NOTICE OF FILING

STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA                                                                        COUNTY OF SPARTANBURG

The Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Spartanburg County announces the Non-Partisan Filing for the following Municipalities and Special Purpose Districts (SPD) for the General Election to be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 to fill the offices listed at each municipality and SPD.

City of Landrum                                 3 City Council Seats

Landrum Fire & Rescue District        2 Commissioner Seats – Areas 1 & 2

Filing opens at Noon, August 1, 2023

Filing closes at Noon, August 15, 2023

Any person wishing to file as a candidate must be a Spartanburg County registered voter and a resident of the Municipality/SPD for at least 30 days prior to the election.

Candidates must file with the Spartanburg County Election Commission a Non-partisan Statement of Intention of Candidacy form – this form may be obtained from the County Election Office or from the candidate section of the following website:  www.scvotes.gov.

Candidates must also pay the following Filing Fee

Municipality/SPD                             Filing Fee

City of Landrum                                 City Council – $100.00

Landrum Fire & Rescue District        Commissioner – $0

These fees must be paid to the City/Town Clerk of the respective Municipality, and a receipt attached to the Statement of Candidacy form.  The County Voter Registration and Elections office does not accept payment for any fees.

All Candidates must refer to the SC Ethics Commission website to find information about the forms (Statement of Economic Interests, Pre-Campaign Disclosure and Post Campaign) they must electronically file to comply with SC Code of Laws as regards their candidacy and campaign.  Website is www.ethics.sc.gov.
