Landrum Mayor Bob Briggs swears in Jason Coffin as Landrum’s new Police Chief.

Jason Coffin was sworn in as the new Police Chief for the City of Landrum at the October Council Meeting. Chief Coffin, a 25 year veteran law enforcement officer, has served as a patrolman, PFC, Corporal, Sergeant, and Lieutenant as well as serving as an Evidence Tech, Property Control Officer, and Warrant Officer. Chief Coffin also served as a K-9 Officer for 10 years.

Chief Coffin has been married for 23 years, he and his wife have a son and a daughter, and they attend church regularly. Chief Coffin is actively involved with his church where he sings, plays guitar, drums, keyboards and also helps feed the homeless every 4th Saturday. Coffin shared that helping others has always been his passion and being Chief of Police is not a position he will take lightly. Coffin said, “This community and this department mean so much to me. As your new Police Chief, I will ensure that the safety and well-being of the citizens in our community will always be my utmost priority. Thank you for allowing me to become your new Chief.” Join us in congratulating the City of Landrum’s new Chief of Police, Jason Coffin!
