Spartanburg Regional Medical Group of the Carolinas Expansion

The City of Landrum is excited to share that the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System received a $3 million grant from the South Carolina Department of Health & Human Services to expand and renovate the Medical Group of the Carolinas facility in here in Landrum, SC and construction will begin soon.

The one-time grant provides infrastructure funds for facilities in rural and medically underserved communities along with areas with growing populations.

Medical Group of the Carolinas, located at 133 North Howard Avenue has been practicing at maximum capacity for the past five years. The Landrum facility that has provided healthcare to our citizens for 28 years, currently has 15 patient rooms and 4 medical providers.

Total expansion will include a 6,500 sq. ft. addition, adding 4 more healthcare providers, nine patient rooms, three patient exam rooms, along with a telehealth room, an additional nurses’ work area, a waiting area, restrooms, and a reception area. The expansion will also include a bone density and mammogram service, and a mobile MRI unit.

The Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System is committed to promoting better health services and quality of life for our community. The Medical Group of the Carolinas in Landrum will continue to provide doctors and staff who are dedicated to meeting healthcare needs, wellness and prevention in diagnosis, and treatment of illnesses for our citizens.

Site plans for the proposed additions were submitted to the City of Landrum in December, along with details that comply with codes and standards. Upon completion, the project will total approximately $5 million dollars.

The City of Landrum is incredibly pleased to share how this transformative space in healthcare will enhance our community.

The project is expected to begin at the end of February.
