CHRISTMAS PARADE 2024

LANDRUM CHRISTMAS PARADE IS THURSDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2024 @ 6:00pm.

BEST PARADE FLOAT/DISPLAY WINS TRAVELING TROPHY & $100 VISA GIFT CARD!

Landrum is gonna be filled with magic of the holiday season on Thursday night, December 5, 2024 @ 6:00pm for the LIGHT UP LANDRUM CHRISTMAS PARADE!

Last year we had 127 entries of lighted floats and hope for that many again this year.

Instead of an entry fee, we ask that each float participant bring a new, unwrapped toy to Landrum City Hall so that children who are less fortunate can have a wonderful holiday!

Bring the whole family and enjoy our sweet little city as we share the Christmas spirit!

PARADE ROUTE:

The parade will begin at the Landrum Depot, travel down North Trade Avenue, turn left onto East Rutherford through downtown, and end at Landrum Middle School. Please reference to detour map for alternate route. Thanks everyone!

Instead of an entry fee, we ask that you bring a new, unwrapped toy to Landrum City Hall along with your application. Help us make a magical Christmas for children in our community who are less fortunate!

*PARADE ROUTE:

The parade will begin at the Landrum Depot, travel down North Trade Avenue, turn left onto East Rutherford through downtown, and end at Landrum Middle School.

*PARADE NOTES:

*If you want to be in the parade with your group, you must meet up with that group, and come in with that group.

*We will not hold spots.

*Due to limited space on North Trade Avenue, line up will be as you arrive. There are no line-up numbers.

*Please….No Santa floats. It confuses the children. Santa will be at the end of the parade.

*Horses: Must have diapers. Horses will be held at the Landrum Fire Dept lot beside the depot until the end of the parade. Please park horse trailers at the lot in field beside Farmers Market or in that parking lot area.

*Candy: Please no throwing candy. We’re not being a Scrooge, it’s for SAFETY. Children dart out into the street to retrieve candy as the the parade passes. It is very dangerous because they cannot be seen by drivers. You may walk beside your unit and HAND OUT candy. Thank you for understanding.

*DETOUR MAP is posted above. Please don’t be a Grinch. Leave early or take another route. Thanks in advance.

Bring the whole family out on Thursday, December 5, 2024 and enjoy our sweet little city as we share in the Christmas spirit! Merry Christmas!

AIRING OF THE QUILTS

AIRING OF THE QUILTS WILL TAKE PLACE ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 17, 2024 from 9:00am-2:00pm on North Trade Avenue in downtown Landrum, SC.

Airing of the Quilts is a tradition that dates back centuries. Ladies would make quilts out of scraps of material and clothing as a necessity to keep their families warm. In the warmth of spring and summer, they would hang their quilts to air out in the bright sun so they would be fresh when the cold, winter nights approached.

You don’t want to miss out on this stunning display of quilts!

Special guest performance by The Dolcimer Group during the airing.

‘Beautiful things come together one stitch at a time’
