The City of Landrum’s museum planning firm, Capitol Museum Services, is now actively working on the storyboards and related interior aspects of the Landrum Rail & History Museum. In order to present the most authentic and interesting exhibits, we are actively searching for original photos and/or artifacts related to the following:

Landrum before the Railroad (Native Americans, trade routes, revolutionary war, civil wat, etc.)

Local Transportation/historical Southern Railroad (horse and wagons, earliest trains, maps, schedules, Saluda grade, early Landrum depot, etc.); I-26 construction,

Agriculture / equestrian related in the area – (early farmers, area products, historic barns, etc.); peaches, wineries, other products

Early History & Pioneers, (Earle family, Bomars, Jacksons, others, first churches, schools, moonshiners,  businesses); People who constructed and/or worked on the railroad (first blacks, porters, ticket agents, conductors, etc.)

Natural History – Blue wall, Hogback Mountain, Pacolet River, lumber milling, etc.

Industry – early mills; Shamrock Mill, hosiery companies, textiles, others, etc.

Any other photos taken between the 1880’s and World War II.

If you are able to identify any of these items in you or your family’s possession, can you please let the City of Landrum know as soon as possible and preferably no later than July 7th.   We would welcome the contribution of any artifacts.  We will make high quality reproductions of any photos you may and you may maintain the originals.
